Chocolate Chip Cookies



2/3 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 and 1/4 c. flour
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
1 and 1/2 t. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts, optional
8-9 oz. chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugars.  Add beaten eggs.  Sift together dry ingredients.  Add and mix.  Add vanilla, nuts and chocolate chips.  Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 min.  Makes approx. 5 dozen.

I often make these in a sheet pan.  They are difficult to spread evenly because they have to be really spread thin.  But they bake in about 15.min and your all done!!
